 About Me

Retired law enforcement officer Daniel Pugel also works as an investment counselor for his own company, D.E. Pugel Inc. In Normandy Park, Washington, he resides.

During his time at Lower Columbia College, Pugel was awarded the Outstanding Law Enforcement Student Award. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). Also at CSULB, he served in leadership positions as President of the Associated Resident Students (ARS). He is still involved in the school's alumni activities.

In addition, he obtained a California Supervisory Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) credential. To be eligible for the POST certificate, a full-time police officer must have completed the Commission's prescribed course of study and a probationary term with their current employer.

As a law enforcement officer, Pugel has also been engaged in training other officers. His teaching certifications from UCLA (University of California at Los Angeles) and a Master of Science degree from California State University Los Angeles were necessary for this. He was a guest speaker on crime prevention at the National Police Staff College in Bramshill, England. The National Police Staff College was England and Wales' primary police training facility at the time.
